Weekly catch report of High Mill Lake - weeks 31 May - 14 June 2014

High Mill Lake is definately one of our most 'easy going' venues: not too big, not too small, lovely hosts, Tony Davies-Patrick as bailiff, excellent carp stock and great surroundings. What more could you wish for on a French carp fishing holiday? Andy, Tracey and Tony have just sent us the catch report below:
31 May - 7 June 2014
Again a good week for the 50's, 2 more for the 5 anglers, plus 4 over 40lb and 13 over 30lb from the 26 fish landed from 48 runs. Sander and Roy up on 8 had 18 of those fish including a massive common at 53lb 4oz, another common at 48lb 6oz and 2 40lb mirrors so well done to them. The other 50 came for the chalet with a stunning 50lb 10oz mirror. With some lovely 30's for Joss on swim 11 they brought the overall average for the week to 34lb. The carp are still at the end of the lake waiting to spawn and with this warm weather they can't be far off.
7 - 14 June 2014
4 anglers joined us from Switzerland, Germany and Holland, 1 couple travelled 1400km so respect to them. But the fish decided to finally spawn so it was a quiet week. With temperatures hitting low 30's two times this week it wasn't very comfortable for the anglers either but after such long spells of rain we were glad to have some sunshine. Willem on swim 11 beat his PB, set here last year, with his first fish, a stunning mirror at 47lb 5oz on Mainline Cell. He followed this with a string of 30's then when his wife Kim was shopping with Susi from swim 10 and I, he landed a stunning mirror at 50lb 10 with Tony's help as it was stuck in the lilies and required the boat. So the effort was all worth while for yet another PB. Willem also had another 40 before the end of the week so a great session for him. A quiet week for the chalet with only 2 30's and for swim 10 5 fish on cooked tigernuts. With 25 fish landed from 39 runs the overall average was 29lb at High Mill Lake.
