Catch report of Bin el Ouidane - October & November 2014
Submitted by Bas van Klaveren on 21-01-2015
From 30th October till 7th November a group of 6 from the UK fished Bin El Ouidane. Anton writes us the following:
"We fished as 3 groups of 2, Anton & Bill, Saul & Andy, Davio & Saul. To start with Saul & Andy and Anton & Bill fished the ends of 2 of the points into deeper water to the right of base camp bay. Davio & Damo fished the shallow bay left of Stefans point. The level was very low but was rising quite quickly.
The first few days only Davio & Damo caught regularly. Every night from 1-2AM onwards they would catch a few [mainly big] carp, nearly all being 30Lb to 47Lb [13-18K]. They were catching in very shallow water of approx 5-7Meters which is unusual as most runs at this lake come in 10M+. However there were huge quantities of small snails in this shallow water, so we are sure this is what the carp were feeding on. After 3-4 Days both Anton & Bill and Saul & Andy moved to 2 different swims in shallower water between Davio and Damo & the hotel. Both swims were a little better but not many snails there. However Bill had 3 fish with 2 being over 30Lbs the best 39+ [17K+], Anton had a 38Lb common [17K+]. Saul ended up with 2 over 30Lb to 36Lb [16K] and Andy a 27pounder.
Davio & Damo ended up over 10-12 being between 30Lb & 40Lb [13K+ to 18K+] and 3 over 40Lb, the best being a 47 pounder [21K+] for Damo. Had 2 wet days but otherwise the weather and food was good & Marc's guys looked after us very well, as they always do!"
